Message There is no empirical evidence thats what would happen exactly if one turbo took a crap. It's just speculation.

When I had my FMIC I added an additional 3/4 inch balance hose before the TB . I did have an incident where one wastegate line came off on one of the dual port wastegate. I was only able to boost 12 psi instead of my set 18 psi because of this. I had both wastegate "T" as well. So both wastegates were balanced.

Should one turbo output way more than the other, the additional pressure would go back through the other turbo's discharge pipe because of the balance tube before the TB I installed. It would be like a huge boost leak. The boost leak being the lesser pressure turbo itself.

The single mas system of the Z engines sucks because it is really two 3 cylinder engines. When I had my FMIC, I had to go to the dual mas conversion just to get it to idle right. With single mas and FMIC, one side would run very lean and the other side would run very rich at idle . The idle was not stable. However, once off idle the a/f would even out. This was evident in my dual egt sensors. Idle and a/f became balanced once I went to dual mass set up. See my post below from over year ago.

The FMIC suck not because of the supposed imbalanced , but because it more restrictive with the longer core runners being about 20 inches instead of 6 or 9 inches as in the side mount. This causes greater pressure drop. I noticed my power was not as strong as the Stillen SMIC.
